Is CSI The Only Show On TV?

I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s noticed that it seems like no matter what time of the day it is, you can always find an episode of CSI on tv. Are there no other shows in syndication that these cable networks feel like playing? I’ve been wanting to do this randomly one day and today was a perfect day since I’m just sitting around the house doing nothing. I wanted to pick a random day of the week and see just how often CSI is actually on TV. When I say “CSI” I’m referring to all of the different versions, CSI (Las Vegas), CSI: NY and CSI: Miami, and when I refer to “TV” I’m talking about basic cable.

What I found actually kind of surprised me. I don’t know if this is typical for every day of the week (even though it seems like it) or if Spike just happened to be running a marathon today. I checked TVguide.com from the time I woke up this morning (7am) to midnight tonight which is 17 hours. So how many hours (of the 17 I checked) do you think that CSI was on any basic cable channel?

If you guessed 10 of 17 hours, guess again… the correct answer………….. 14 hours!!! CSI appears on TV today, 14 out of 17 hours!! That’s absolutely insane. It was mostly comprised of CSI: NY on Spike, all day, with a few episodes of CSI: Miami thrown in there on A&E. I was a little surprised that CSI (Las Vegas) wasn’t on at all today, which is also why I’m guessing it’s a CSI: NY marathon on Spike.  So there you have it, if you love CSI you should aways have something to watch no matter what time you sit down in front of the tube. And for those that care, after the jump is the rundown of the hours and which show was actually on.

I Want To Punch The Economy In The Face

Check out some of the outtakes that didn’t make the Super Bowl commercial from the E*Trade baby. The g/f loves this little guy so I’m sure she’s laughing at it right now, haha.

It’s A Paintball Party!

There are a lot of things I look back on and think to myself “Wow, I would be so pissed if someone had done that to me, why the fuck did I do that?” And this is one of those times. Thinking about it now, obviously it was stupid and we weren’t really thinking about what we were doing and how we would feel if this had happened to us, but at the time we thought it was the right thing to do since people obviously don’t know how to listen. Oh, the stupid shit you do when you’re in high school….

The year was 1999 (or possibly 2000, I honestly can’t remember), we were seniors in high school and it was the weekend, so what else was there to do but try to find a party to go drink at. This time it was a little different though, instead of calling a million people trying to find out where we should go, we were the place to go. P (real names will never be used on here, just first initials) was moving to a new house and his parents were going to be gone for a while on Saturday so we decided we would throw one last bash at the old house. This house had seen many parties throughout the years since P has 3 older brothers who were all big drinkings throughout high school. So we had a place to drink, but what about alcohol?

LOST: Jughead (1/28/09)

LOST: Jughead (1/28/09)

Locke finds out the identity of the forces who have been attacking the survivors, and Desmond searches for a woman who could be the key to helping Faraday stop the island’s erratic movement through time.

Whoops, forgot to post this yesterday, my fault. So what did you think of last nights episode? I thought it was really good actually. It was cool how we finally see “The Others” as they were when the first got to the island, or when they were the main inhabitants. Also we find out that Charles Widmore is trying to get back to the island because he was actually on the island when he was younger. And of course Richard Alpert does not age for some reason. I also found it cool that Desmond named his first son after Charlie, good way to remember the guy that saved your life.

I can’t search around for any easter eggs this morning because work started blocking the main LOST forum I was a member of (lame) so did any of you see anything with hidden meaning or something that connects the people?

Dear Best Buy Manager…

Get a new job!

Yesterday we went to our local Best Buy, as we do every Tuesday to look at new DVD and Blu-Ray releases and just waste a half hour. It seemed like a pretty typical Tuesday except our good from “The Chief” wasn’t there as he normally is. “The Chief” is an employee at this particular Best Buy who we’ve come to be friends with over the years… Yes, we have gone to this Best Buy every Tuesday for probably the last 5-6 years, the security guard knows us, “The Chief” knows us by name, and even a few of the other employees know us since they see us so often.

So what usually happens is I’ll check out Walmart.com, Circuit City, and maybe Frys.com to see who has the best price on whatever movies we happen to be purchasing that week, then we head to the store. Best Buy will price match any local competitors (The Chief will price match for us no matter what, as long as the store is in their computer and has a brick and mortar location somewhere in Illinois), so we usually have print outs of the Walmart prices, since they are usually cheaper, but sometimes we forget to bring them. This is when it helps if The Chief is working, he’ll use the register computer to look at walmart’s site for us and price match it without a problem, but when The Chief isn’t working we don’t have that luxury. And this is what happened this past Tuesday.
