Holy shit! I knew they were making a remake to "The Evil Dead", but I didn't realize they were taking it in a much more serious direction. Based on the leaked trailer, which you can find here, it looks as if they are throwing all of the campiness out the window and going for straight horror. Don't get me wrong, I love the original and was extremely pissed when I heard they were remaking it, but this trailer just blew my mind like a shotgun to the mouth. They made it so that both the original and this one can exist in the same world, with the same title, yet still be great in their own sense... Although that's just an assumption as I haven't seen the new one, but this trailer... wow, still amazed even after writing this. I have to go now because I'm going to watch it again. The film opens on April 12, 2013... we'll see you there.
In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
They also unveiled the first image from the flick as well, which you can find below.
