South Park – A Nightmare on Face Time (10-24-12)
Time for a Halloween episode of South Park! This time the kids decide to dress up as their favorite Avengers characters, but not Stan. Randy is forcing Stan to stay in and help him with his new business venture... wonder what it could be? Maybe a Couric scale?
A Nightmare on Face Time
The boys are all ready to dress up as their favorite foursome, the Avengers, for Halloween. After months of planning their costumes, at the last minute Randy tells Stan he can’t go trick or treating with his friends. Instead, Stan has to pitch in and help his father with a new business venture.

I'd say it was a solid episode this week, not quite as funny as previous ones, but I love the fact that they recreated "The Shining" with Randy in a Blockbuster, that was genius. The episode revolved around Randy Marsh buying a Blockbuster store for $10,000 and then trying to convince everyone that people still want to rent DVDs and Blu-Rays, rather than stream them. The boys dressed up as The Avengers and tried to thwart a robbery, but when they confront the robbers, they find out they are a little more ruthless than they can handle, even as The Avengers. Stan wasn't allowed to go trick or treating with the rest of the group because Randy made him stay at the Blockbuster and work because he was having a big promotion for Halloween and was sure that hordes of people would be coming through the doors to rent movies. When nobody showed up, Randy began to go crazy and see ghosts and spirits haunting the hallowed halls of the once-popular rental establishment. Instead of trick or treating with his friends, they put an iPad on a skateboard and Stan Facetimes with them around town.
Aside from the most popular costume in town being "Gangdam Style" and a brief appearance by "Gangdam Stein", that pretty much covers the episode. Like I said, it wasn't quite as funny as some of the previous ones this season, but it was extremely smart. I especially liked the fact that Timmy was dressed up as Gangdam Style, so that his stutter fit perfectly with the song.
South Park continues to be consistent, and we'll be back next week with a brief recap of the next episode.
