We finally get a new show from street skater Rob Dyrdek entitled “Fantasy Factory” and it will hit MTV on February 8th 2009. From what I can gather the show revolves around Rob branching out in his businesses as well as doing some of the things some people only dream about… living his fantasies. Check out the little preview above as Rob walks you through his new office and kind of explains what the show is about. Expect daily posts from us at acSlater.com when the show finally airs as we are huge fans of Rob & Big.

Hey Kid! What Up Cat!

Remember those words cause in the near future everyone is going to be saying them. They are the words of Burman, world’s worst roommate and co-star of a new series coming to the interwebs soon. “Ben And Burman” is a web series about 2 roommates that don’t really get along too well, but always manage to stay friends… most of the time. Ben, played by Ben Giroux, is a good guy, he’s smart, charming and just wants to find a good girl to settle down with. Burman, played by Scott Burman, is his obnoxious, over the top roommate who finds any way he can to screw up Ben’s chances with every girl he meets, but not purposely.

“Ben and Burman” is the brainchild of Ben Giroux and Scott Burman who met at USC while going to school there. I don’t know a whole lot about Ben, but I grew up with Burman and we went to school together for a few years. When I heard that he was putting together this web series in hopes of internet stardom I immediately wanted to help. I’ve always been interested in doing something as far as comedic videos go, on the internet, but I could never find any of my friends that want to act in it. So when this situation arose for me to get involved with something of that nature, I jumped on it. Now obviously since I live in Chicago and Ben and Burman now live out in LA, the only way I could really contribute right now was to help them finance the project, which I gladly did, and I’m definitely amazed by what they put together.

I’ve been bugging Burman to see anything that they’ve got as far as clips, pictures or episodes, but he kept telling me things were a little backed up due to one thing or another. I can’t talk about a lot of things related to the show, but most of them were good things, so I let it slide. Which brings me to last week and a phone call from Burman. He was gonna be in town for the holidays and had some stuff he wanted to show me and whoever else wanted to come by… rough cuts of all 12 episodes! Finally I get to see something besides a Sizzle Reel related to this phantom project that I wasn’t even sure was really happening. For all I know, Burman took my money to a strip club and had a great night… hell that’s probably what he did with it anyways, but at least he had something to show me.

So last night I headed over to Scott’s mom’s house for a screening. And it turns out it was actually a mini-reunion from our Jr. High, which was pretty cool. So I finally got to see all 12 webisodes for the “Ben and Burman” show and I must say, even in rough form, these things are pretty funny. Each episode clocks in at between 5-8 minutes which is perfect for any web viewer. I would have had some sweet bootleg footage, but Burman made me sign an NDA! haha, just kidding, but he did promise that I wouldn’t write too much about what I saw other than “It was awesome”. And I won’t lie, the series is pretty solid and I look forward to whatever comes of it in the future.

So rest assure, when I am allowed to divulge more information regarding the series, release dates, and over all information, I will post it here. But for now head on over to www.benandburman.com and sign up for the newsletter so you make sure to get all of the latest information regarding the series in case I’m slacking.

Thanks again Scott.

There are a couple new SMODcasts over at Quickstop Entertainment if you enjoy listening to Kevin Smith talk for an hour. They took a pretty long break after Zack and Miri got released and just came back last week to talk about what went wrong with the movie and it’s release and why it had such a poor opening. And then this week they talk about part 2 of that, which is basically that they were pretty stupid for being so hard on themselves and getting depressed over it since in actuality Zack and Miri is their highest box office grossing movie yet, despite the weak opening weekend.

OJ Simpson has just been sentenced to 15 years with the possibility for parole in 5 years for his involvement in the armed robbery in Vegas to get “his” stuff back. Looks like the Juice has been squeezed.

Apparently the big news today is that Britney Spears tickets have gone on presale this morning. Looks like they are starting at 8AM in whatever timezone the venue is located. I just picked up 2 tickets to try to flip for the Chicago show, anyone else trying to make a little extra cash on these? You can get the presale password for your particular show from MyPresale.com they have all of them listed. Slipknot goes on presale today too, nice.

For no reason other than she’s hot, here’s a picture of Megan Fox from some GQ awards thing this past week. Too bad she’s engaged to that white rapper guy from the original 90210.

Elvis' Middle Name is Aron, Why Does his headstone say Aaron?

Elvis middle name was Aron, Why does his headstone say Aaron?

I know this sort of crap has been floating around since the day Elvis died, but check out this news video that claims he could be alive and living as a man named ‘Jesse’, which was Elvis’ identical twin brother that had passed away. DNA tests are currently being done and there is currently a court case in Tennessee about some lady that claims she’s Elvis’ half sister.

Obviously I didn’t believe any of this just by reading the headline just as I don’t believe 2pac is still alive, but either way there are some interesting facts in the video. For instance, DNA that was pulled from a liver biopsy from Elvis that is still on file does not match the DNA that is included in the coroners report from when he died. But saying that, it also neither of those samples match this ‘Jesse’ character either. Also, Elvis’ name is apparently spelled wrong on his tombstone in Graceland, his middel name is Aron, yet the tombstone says Aaron. Apparently, he didn’t want his real name branding a gravesite that he was not in…weird. Obviously I don’t know the reasoning behind the misspelling, but you would think that a person as famous as Elvis would’t have such an obvious error on his tombstone. Then there’s handwriting analysis’ that were done on letters this ‘Jesse’ guy wrote and old Elvis letters, and they are inconclusive. They can’t say they were written by the same person, but they can’t say that they weren’t. And according to family members that were at the funeral, Elvis’ face didn’t look real it looked like a wax figure. From my experience at funerals most of the time the bodies don’t look entirely ‘real’ so some people’s idea of what they should see when they look into an open casket could be different from what they actually see. Or maybe they don’t want to believe the person is really dead and therefore tell themselves it’s only wax and it’s not real… who knows.

Why would Elvis have faked his own death? Well his manager wanted him to do it for the money. He said that Elvis and him could make a lot more money if he were dead than they would if he were alive. And Elvis’ reasoning was to get out of the limelight. Apparently his family had been the target of death threats and other acts of hate and it didn’t seem worth it to him. And apparently, his life insurance policies were never cashed in. This could be completely false, but interesting if it’s true.

I’ve never been one of those people that believe celebrities have the ability to fake their own death and that people like Elvis, 2pac, Biggie and whoever else are hanging out somewhere laughing at everyone that thinks they are dead. But sometimes there’s weird evidence and circumstances that come to light that makes you give things a second thought. But in 2pac and Biggie’s case, they were gunned down in public, which would have made things a lot more complicated if they had planned to fake their own deaths. There is no doubt in my mind that those 2 are 100% dead, but Elvis on the other hand is a little tricky. Who knows, this video just had a few interesting things that kind of made me think so I felt like sharing. Do you guys have any thoughts on this? Don’t some of the circumstances and evidence kind of make you think a little harder about it? Maybe it’s just me…

Could this be the very first picture of Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland? Looks pretty real to me, but then again Photoshop can be a hell of a tool these days. What do you think?

Since Rob & Big ended their run on MTV, Rob Dyrdek has since gotten rid of the mini-horse and apparently picked up a new friend for Meaty, another bulldog named Beefy. I believe Rob is also shooting another show for MTV so hopefully we’ll have more information about that soon. Check out a few more pictures of Beefy after the jump.

Update: Apparently Rob’s new MTV show is called “Fantasy Factory” which I guess I should have been able to figure out based on all the pictures on his MySpace page about it.
