Call of Duty: Black Ops Wager Match Trailer

In the last post I briefly mentioned the Wager Match mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops, well here's the video trailer for it so you can get a better idea of what it is. I seriously think this sounds awesome and can't wait to get my hands on it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition Revealed

That's right folks, if you were wondering what ridiculous piece of [cheap] swag you'd be getting when you ponied up $150 for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition, you don't have to wait any longer. Just like Modern Warfare 2 did last year with the night vision goggles, this years Black Ops Prestige Edition will net you an RC Car similar to the one seen in the multiplayer teaser video. Yep, it's that same RC car that was seen driving through the map towards the enemy team, only to explode once reaching it's destination. It also seems that the hardened edition of the game (which is included with the prestige edition) will come with 4 bonus co-op maps... which I'm not too happy about. I'm not the type of person that needs to pay $10 $20 extra dollars (seriously?!??) for a fancy case/booklet or $90 extra for a ridiculous RC Car that I'll never use (even though it has video/audio surveillance which is kinda cool), so the fact that I may have to pony up the $20 for the hardened edition right off the bat is a little annoying to me, especially when I know they'll be releasing at least 2 DLC packs (nothing confirmed, I'm just assuming based on previous installments) that will cost me $15 each... I can deal with the DLC being $15 extra, but I don't like all these special editions that are being released....

Anyways, below you can find exactly what comes in the Prestige Edition and you can head on over to Amazon and pre-order yours today or you can go here: Get the new Call of Duty(R).

Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Teaser Trailer

I'll be the first one to admit that I'm a bit of an Infinity Ward fanboy as I've not been that impressed with Treyarch's contributions to the Call of Duty series, but this trailer really has me geeked for Black Ops. I'll be there on launch day to pick up a copy of this for sure, I just hope they made a few improvements over World at War (which I didn't mind for the most part).

Call of Duty: Black Ops?

Could this be the title of the new entry in the Call of Duty series? Various websites are reporting these latest rumors for the Treyarch developed game. If you're a fan of the Call of Duty series you would know that since Call of Duty 3 Infinity Ward and Treyarch have switched off in the development process essentially giving each studio a 2 year development calendar, but still giving Activision a CoD game to release each year. Infinity Ward was the developer behind Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 where Treyarch has developed Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War. This latest entry, Call of Duty: Black Ops, is rumored to take place between World War II and present day, meaning that we will travel all over the world and fight battles throughout history and could be a "Cold War-era" based game.

This isn't the first rumor surrounding the next installment in the series, earlier this year there were rumors of a Vietnam based game which would still give us that nostalgic feeling that Treyarch has always given us, but without a World War II setting which I think everyone is just about sick of (or at least I am).

I will be honest, I've never been a huge fan of the Treyarch developed Call of Duty games. I thought Call of Duty 3 was a huge disappointment coming from the amazing CoD2. And then when Infinity Ward gave us Call of Duty 4 the bar was raised even higher. Although I will say that World at War wasn't nearly as bad as CoD3 was. I actually played through the entire single player and then stuck with the multiplayer for a good amount of time after getting sick of CoD4. But again, when Modern Warfare 2 came out I completely dropped World at War, even going so far as to sell it on eBay, so I'm still a little skeptical when we are on"Treyarch Years". But we'll see, I really just want something different, I feel like we've been fighting World War II for longer than the actual war lasted... time to move on.

So again, these are all just rumors nothing official has been announced so take it with a grain of salt. The only thing that is official is that we will get another Call of Duty game this Fall and it will be developed by Treyarch.
