We’ve come to that point again, the 13th season of South Park comes to a close tonight with the episode entitled “Pee”. And as with last week TV Guide doesn’t have much of a synopsis on their site so thanks again to Starpulse for providing a better glimpse into what tonight’s episode is all about.

Pee

In the 13th season finale things at the water park are not what they seem. The boys’ fun-filled day is about to turn deadly. Events are in play at Splash Town that signal the end of the world is upon us. Cartman tries to warn everyone, but no one will listen. Disaster is about to strike and the boys are in a race to survive.

Looks like we’re in for a little 2012 / disaster movie parody tonight. Check back tomorrow for a recap of this episode and let us know your thoughts on this episode as well as the rest of season 13 in the comments!

Recap

I thought this episode was pretty solid for the most part. As expected we got a parody of the end of the world, 2012, nonsense that has been flooding the airwaves lately due to the big budget blockbuster 2012. The episode starts off with the kids going to Pi Pi’s waterpark for a nice day of relaxing in the wave pool and flying down waterslides. When they get there they are greeted with a wave pool packed full of minorities which of course is too much for Cartman. It’s at this point that we have the pleasure of listening to Cartman sing about how much he despises minorities. I thought the song was one of the funniest parts of the episode.

Meanwhile the rest of the kids, Kenny, Kyle, Stan and Butters are in another pool discussing who can hold their breath the longest when Butters announces he has to pee. Kyle tells him to go, meaning get out of the pool and go to the bathroom, but Butters of course just pisses in the pool which disgusts Kyle. It’s then that he finds out that tons of people piss in the pool and it’s not a big deal, but he can’t wrap his head around that idea and gets out of the water. It’s at this point when the scientists barge into Mr. Pi Pi’s office and explain to him that the Pee levels in the water have become dangerously high and they need to evacuate the park before someone else Pees in the pool, but Mr. Pi Pi isn’t having any of it and leaves the park open.

Back at the picnic area the kids all meet back up and Kyle is pretty disgusted by the whole Pee thing even though the other guys try to convince him that it’s normal. Cartman then shows up trying to explain some mathematical number crunching he has done that predicts what the Mayans had predicted, that the end of the world is coming, minorities are taking over. Stan tries to explain to Cartman that if there are more minorities than “normal” people (as Cartman calls them) then the normal people would then be the minority, but of course Cartman isn’t having any of it. So the kids get up to go back into the pool, but Kyle won’t go because of all the Pee so Cartman thinks he’s sticking around to help him out, which he’s not.

Flash forward to the other kids playing around in the pool when a little girl swims by. There is a close up of underwater and we see the little girl is peeing in the pool. This sets off a change reaction which causes pee to come from everywhere destroying and flooding the whole water park, leaving most of the kids stranded on the Mt. Everest attraction and Cartman in a raft with a bunch of minorities. Cartman thinks the world has ended and he is the only normal person left in a world full of minorities and he’s not happy. Meanwhile the other kids run into Pi Pi on Mt. Everest who explains that the only way to drain the pee is to swim down to a maintenance building in the base of the attraction and open a release valve. Of course since earlier in the episode, before he found out there was pee in the water, Kyle claimed that he could hold is breath the longest so he was naturally voted to dive into the pee and open the release valve. Before he can swim down that far though he needs to drink 3 glasses of piss to somehow equalize his body to the pee, think of The Abyss.

Meanwhile outside of the water park the police and FBI and Randy Marsh are trying to figure out how to rescue the people inside, but they can’t go in there because of all the piss and what it does to people. Apparently the piss can cause unimaginable rage when you come in contact with it and they can’t risk saving them until they have an antidote. They demonstrate this “rage” by pissing on monkeys faces and watching them go crazy, but it’s obvious that the monkey is just pissed cause someone in pissing on them, not because the piss as some crazy rage inducing property to it. The agents then discover that when distracted with a banana the monkeys do not become agitated when pissed on, so naturally they assume that bananas are the antidotes. But to be sure it’s going to work Randy volunteers to be pissed on and given a banana.

So knowing that the banana is going to work the agents fly in and save the boys, but not until after Kyle has already started drinking piss. And once outside the waterpark Kyle explains that he’s very afraid of piss and the only think he hates more than piss is bananas, which is of course when the agent walks up and hands each of them a banana to counter the effects of the piss.

So overall I thought it was a pretty good episode and a decent way to the end season 13. So that’s it for the South Park updates for the year. I’ll be back when the season starts up again in the spring to do it all again.

South Park: Dances With Smurfs (11/11/09)

Here is the plot outline for tonight’s all new episode of South Park courtesy of Star Pulse, they seem to have a better source for the plot summaries than TVguide.com does.

Dances With Smurfs

Eric Cartman seizes the opportunity to become the voice of change at the school when he takes over the morning announcements. His target is South Park Elementary’s Student Body President, Wendy Testaburger. Cartman is asking the tough questions and gaining followers.

I’m going to have to say I was a little disappointed in this episode. Essentially Cartman takes over the job as the morning announcement reader after the normal kid is killed by some crazy guy who mistakes him for the 40 year old truck driver that has been sleeping with his wife. This was the only part I thought was good, the fact that you heard everything go down over the PA system in the school was great. It got a little uncomfortable/intense when the dude made the kid put the gun in his mouth and then blew his head off, but still probably the best part of the episode.

The rest of the time Cartman is just trying to annoy the hell out of Wendy as she is Student Counsel President and for some reason Cartman doesn’t think she’s doing a good job. He even writes a 500+ page book about Wendy that essentially just calls her a slut and makes fun of her vagina. In the end Cartman creates some ridiculous story about how Wendy hates Smurfs and had them all killed after he fell in love with Smurfette, but in the end Wendy turns the whole thing around on Cartman and makes it look like he was sent in to Smurf land undercover to steal Smurf berries to power the school, or something. In the end Cartman takes over as student counsel president and realizes that you don’t do shit and have no power to really change anything in the school.

Like I said I though the episode was pretty ‘meh’ coming off of last weeks biker fags, so hopefully next week will be better. What did you guys think? I’m sure I missed the whole point of this episode, but if that’s the case, then I guess that’s why I didn’t like it.

South Park: The F Word (11/4/09)

Not a whole lot of information about tonight’s episode of South Park, but here is the synopsis.

Update: Thanks to Les and starplus.com for a more complete plot outline for tonight’s episode.

The F Word

The boys take action when a motorcycle festival takes over the town.

Everyone agrees they’ve had enough of the loud and obnoxious bikers that have arrived in South Park. The boys are taking on the Harley riders. They thrown down the “F word” and the game is on.

I actually really liked this episode, I thought there was actually a fairly good message and I like how the guys at South Park take current topics and spin them to work within the context of the show. The idea behind last night’s episode was that these bikers come into South Park and start annoying everyone to the point where the kids start calling them Fags. Eventually it gets to the point where the kids spray paint “Get Out Fags” all over buildings and billboards around town trying to get the bikers to leave, but their plan takes a strange turn when Big Gay Al and Mr. Slave happen to see one of the signs and think that they are referring to them as homosexuals, which of course is not what the kids meant at all. The kids immediately admit that it was them that did the spray painting and don’t understand what the big deal is since they don’t want to the gay’s to leave they want the fag bikers to leave. It kind of reminded me of the episode with the South Park flag, none of the kids in town understood why chef was offended by the flag and wanted it changed. The flag depicted a bunch of white people hanging a black person, but the kids saw it as a bunch of people hanging another person, they didn’t see the color, just people. It’s kind of the same idea here, the kids see the annoying, obnoxious, attention whore bikers as fags because they are just that, annoying, obnoxious, attention whores, not because they are homosexual. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the uproar over the Modern Warfare 2 “F.A.G.S.” viral video that came out last night, fags was spelled out my 4 words at the end of the faux PSA, “Fight Against Grenade Spam”. And anyone that has ever played a video game online knows that the word Fag gets thrown around constantly, yet they are not referring to gay people…

Which lead into the second half of the show, South Park legally changes the meaning of the word Fag from homosexual to obnoxious harley motorcycle riders. The only problem with this is that the government still recognizes “fag” as relating to homosexual because that’s what it says in the dictionary, which apparently overrides town law. So the boys set out to get the definition in the dictionary changed so that the whole country recognizes the new definition of fag. I’m pretty sure this is a South Park way of looking at what’s currently going on with Marijuana. Breckenridge Colorado just recently decriminalized/legalized marijuana in it’s town, yet the federal government still sees it as being illegal so overall it’s still illegal and federal agents can still arrest people for it, even in Breckenridge. The same goes for medical marijuana all of the country.

I thought the episode was a good one, I do believe that words that may have had a derogatory comprehension just a few years ago do not necessarily have the same meanings today and while I’m not saying to go around and start calling everyone fags, I do like the way the guys over at South Park made light of the situation. Not everyone that calls another person a fag is doing so because they are trying to call them homosexual in a negative way, they are calling them a fag because they are a fag…

South Park: Whale Whores (10/28/09)

I completely forgot that I used to post the synopsis for South Park on here every week, my bad. This week actually sounds exactly like a previous episode which is strange, usually Matt and Trey are good about not doing something they’ve already done, but this one sounds exactly like the episode where the boys go to the aquarium and find the whale that they think can talk and send it to the moon. I guess we’ll just have to see tonight when this one airs. So far I’ve been pretty impressed with the episodes, Dead Celebrities was good and then Butters as the pimp was really good, but I was a little disappointed with the wrestling episode last week. Not sure why, but maybe I’ll have to re-watch it as a couple friends said they loved it…

Whale Whores

Stan vows to sae the dolphins after the family visit to an aquarium in Denver on his birthday is marred by mass slaughter of aquatic mammals.

Talk about a great episode, wow. From the very beginning of the show to the very end, everything about this episode was great. “Fuck you whale, fuck you dolphin”. I was worried that we were going to get a similar plot line to the episode where the kids saved a whale by strapping it to a rocket and sending it to the moon, but boy was I wrong. The Japanese wreak havoc on all whales and dolphins (including the Miami Dolphins) as the boys try to stop them. Stan, in particular, joins up with Whale Wars, that show on Discovery, and tries to help out only to discover that those guys don’t actually do anything. So when the captain is harpooned through the face, Stan takes over and the show gains popularity because stuff is actually happening now. It gains so much popularity that the guys on The Deadliest Catch are jealous and try to put a stop to them only to have their plans thwarted by whales. In the end it turns out that the Japanese are killing all the whales and dolphins because they believe that the animals were responsible for the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan. Why would they think this you ask? Well because the day after the bombs were dropped the United States was nice enough to forward on so pictures they captured of the plane that dropped the bombs and control of the plane was a dolphin and a whale. So instead of telling the Japanese what really happened Stan gets Kyle to doctor up another image showing a Chicken and a Cow were the real masterminds behind the bombing, thus leading to the Japanese killing all Chicken and Cows instead of Whales and Dolphins.

South Park: The Ring (3/11/09)

The Ring

In the 13th-season premiere, Kenny gets less than he bargained for when he takes his new girlfriend to a Jonas Brothers concert.

I ha no idea the new season started tonight so thanks D for letting me know. My DVR would have recorded it anyways but I don’t watch anything on comedy central so I had no idea. Hopefully this new season will be a little better than the last half of season 12, which was pretty terrible.
