Mini Movie Review: Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden?

This was a great movie, hands down. Unlike Michael Moore who comes off as a prick in most of his movies, or edits his stuff to come off the way he wants it to, Morgan Spurlock seems to tell it like it is. If he is editing it to make a point, I couldn't tell.

I'm sure you're asking yourself "How could one man find Osama bin laden when the rest of the world can't?" Well Obviously if we're still looking for Bin Laden, Spurlock didn't find him. Sorry to ruin the end of the movie, but he doesn't. I'm sure he came pretty close though based on the ending of the film, but that doesn't stop the movie from being extremely interesting. He travels all over the middle east getting people's views and opinions of America and Americans while also trying to get information as to the where abouts of Osama.

I enjoyed Spurlock's last movie "Super Size Me" and this one was much better than that one. It seems to give pretty good incite into what the people of these middle eastern countries think about Americans and the American Government. Most of them were extremely friendly towards Spurlock and had no problem talking on camera, but there were a few that wanted nothing to do with him. Overall I would definitely recommend checking this one out. It's about an hour and a half long and I was never bored. I could have done without some of the "video game-type CG" that he used at the beginning and a few random spots in between, but I guess he needed a place to do some voice overs and he didn't want to talk over video clips. So check it out and let me know what you guys thought.

Mini Movie Review: Fahrenheit 9/11

I'm going to tell you right now that I'm probably a bit bias when it comes to Michael Moore's movies since I think the guy is a complete hack. He edits his movies in such a way that only his point gets across and nothing else. Bowling For Columbine used interviews and clips that were taken completely out of context and edited to promote his ideas. And knowing that going in made me a little leary of everything that was said, but that's not to say that it wasn't interesting... sometimes. I don't know what I was expecting going in to this... actually I thought it was going to be about some of the underlying conspiracies surrounding 9/11, but it really wasn't. I don't know why I had that in my mind and maybe it was my fault for expecting that, but what I got out of this wasn't really anything I didn't already know. Now granted it's been a few years since this movie came out and I only put it off because of my hatred of Michael Moore, but I decided to at least give it a viewing. While it was informative on some stuff, it seemed like Moore was just stating the same things over and over again and it got old fast. The movie could have been about 30 minutes shorter if he didn't constantly talk about the same things. Personally I'd rather watch a documentary on TV about the different 9/11 conspiracy theories than watch Michael Moore waddle around his home town of Flynt Michigan... speaking of which, does he ever go anywhere else and interview "normal" people or will nobody but his hometown welcome him?

If you're a fan of Michael Moore, I'm sorry, but you may enjoy this movie, you may not, I thought parts were interesting, but overall it wasn't anything special or explosive.
