LOST: Season 6 – Across the Sea (5/11/10)

TVguide is really skimping on the plot synopsis' the last couple weeks. I understand we're getting close to the end, but come on guys give me something to work with. On that note, below you'll find the 4 word synopsis for tonight's episode of LOST. I'll be back tomorrow with a recap, easter eggs and theories.

Across the Sea

Locke's motives become clear.

I was reading through Twitter last night after the episode aired and was surprised to see a lot of people didn't like it... I personally thought it was pretty good, aside from maybe the children actors and the mini-flashbacks towards the end of the season, but the rest of it was pretty good. We got quite a few questions answered regarding Jacob and The Man in Black, so lets get into those. This first part is going to be a recap with a few little theories thrown in and after that I will post my other theories. Sorry this one is probably going to be pretty long and long winded (and probably won't make any sense to anyone outside of my head, I had a hard time explaining what I was thinking towards the end).

LOST: Season 6 – The Candidate (5/4/10)

After a week off we are back with more LOST tonight and it should be a good one. Actually, it better be a good one cause the season is winding down here and I don't think they can afford to give us a lame episode when we're so close to the end. Below is the synopsis for tonight's episode and I'll be back tomorrow with a recap, easter eggs and whatever else I find.

The Candidate

Jack questions Locke's motives after he's asked to perform a tough task.

A lot went down this week in Lost and I don' think there is anyway for me to go into it without posting spoilers, so for those of you that haven't watched it I would advise that you don't read any further.

LOST: Season 6 – The Last Recruit (4/20/10)

And we're another episode closer to the end. Here's the synopsis for this week's LOST... not really much to say about it so I'll see you guys tomorrow for a quick rundown.

The Last Recruit

The Locke monster's camp merges with Jack's, and alliances are forged (and broken). L.A. segments focus on Jack.

I don't have much to say regarding last night's episode in the way of Easter Eggs and theories, but we did find out a few things that were kind of interesting. Smoke Monster Locke informs Jack that he was in-fact the incarnation of Jack's father that he saw when they first crashed on the island. Smokey said that he has always been helping them, not there to hurt them and that's why he took that form, so he could lead Jack to fresh water. My head is starting to explode from reading these lost forums and what people are reading into and taking away from each tiny little plot detail that's revealed so I'm leaving it as the Smoke Monster took the form of Jack's dad right after the crash. Personally I believe that every incarnation of Jack's dad was the Smoke Monster, but after reading these forums a lot of people would disagree with me and just say that Smokey is a liar... ok then.

The other big question that people seemed to have from last night's episode is that supposedly Sun was shot the day after the flight from Australia, yet she's wheeled into the hospital at the same time as Locke who has been home for at least a week based on other conversations throughout the episode. He's had time to get fired from his job, meet with Hurley's temp agency and start substitute teaching at the school... obviously it's been more than a day, but to these people claiming that Sun/Jin have only had 1 day pass.... how do we know that? I don't recall anyone telling us that what we saw of Jin/Sun in the hotel was the day after they landed from Australia. Who's to say that they haven't been shacked up in a hotel for a week with the meeting Jin had being later... There's no indication of how much time has passed in their storyline, so it could have very well been a week. The thing that did confuse me is how Sun recognized Locke in the AR. I get that there is Deja Vu between people and some people have been having memories of the island reality... The only thing I can think of is that since Sun was shot, thus having a near death experience, she could have gotten a flash of the island reality in the same way that Charlie did when he was choking on the heroin.

Other things that happened; Jack is really starting to believe that the island isn't done with him so he jumps off the Elizabeth (Desmond's sailboat actually) and swims back to join Smokey's crew, Claire is starting to trust people again and joins Sawyer, Kate and others as they steal the boat and head to Widmore's camp only to be ambushed at gunpoint. Jin and Sun finally reunite. And lastly, I don't believe that Sayid killed Desmond in the well. Now, I don't think that Sayid can be brought back from the darkside as Hurley put it, but I still think there is some little bit of Sayid left in that body and that person couldn't kill Desmond. That well also looked a hell of a lot shallower than I remember from last week when Smokey dropped a torch down it. Other than those things, Jack and Claire were introduced in the AR with Desmond's guidance and Jack and Locke were brought together as well.... Like I said last week, Desmond seems like the new Jacob, this whole thing might end in a vicious circle with another plane crashing on the island or a ship or something, and it'll be Locke and Desmond sitting on the beach talking about things...

So what did you guys pull away from last night? What did I miss?

LOST: Season 6 – Everybody Loves Hugo (4/13/10)

Looks like the week's episode of LOST is a Hurley centered episode, which could be pretty good. To me he has been one of the most intriguing characters this season so hopefully we'll get a better look into what's going on with him.

Everybody Loves Hugo

Hurley agonizes over what to do next, and the Locke monster is curious about the new arrival at his camp. Meanwhile, Ilana leads a mission to Hydra island.

Pretty good, yet fairly predictable episode of LOST this week. When I say predictable I'm really only talking about two scenes in particular. When Ilana gets blown up and when Desmond gets pushed down the well were some of the most predictable moments of the entire series so far... I was hoping they would throw us for a loop and not do the expected, but oh well. Aside from those moments of the episode, there were 2 big things that I've theorize, which you can read about after the jump. And yes, there are spoilers.

LOST: Season 6 – Happily Ever After (4/6/10)

Here's the very brief synopsis of this weeks LOST episode. Sounds as if it may be a Desmond episode so hopefully we'll get some information on what's been going on with him before coming back to the island. There were also some fairly significant spoilers in the cast listing for tonight's episode which I've chosen to leave off. I'll be back tomorrow with easter eggs, theories and a recap of the episode.

Happily Ever After

Desmond awakens and discovers that he's on the island.

As expected, this was a Desmond episode and again, we see more of the Alternate Reality than we do of what's actually happening on the island. So, after watching the episode and glancing over the forums I really don't know what to make of this week... From what I've gathered, the AR and the island reality are starting to "come together" or at least in the AR people are starting to realize that there may be another dimension or reality. This is evident in the scene when Charlie pulls the wheel of the car and sends him and Desmond into the water, thus recreating the scene from before when Charlie drowns and of course giving Desmond a glimpse into the island world when Charlie puts his hand on the glass to reveal the same message Charlie wrote before, "Not Pennys Boat". There's also the fact that Daniel Faraday/Widmore (as he's known in the AR) was able to write out a complicated mathematical/physics formula related to an atom bomb or a large amount of energy and in the AR he's a musician and has nothing to do with physics, but he's smart enough to realize that it has to mean something.

There are a bunch of other things in the AR that are almost the opposite of what we saw from before in flashbacks from the island reality, but I don't think those differences were as important as the fact that Desmond has this incredible ability. It's almost as if the electromagnetic energy that he was subject to in Widmore's box experiment was able to transpose his consciousness into the AR or at least allow him to see through the eyes of the AR Desmond (if it was a complete shift in consciousness he would have remembered Penny and everything from the island completely, but he didn't). It seems like Desmond is the key to figuring out how the two realities affect one another or how they come together. It's very similar to the ability to see the future that he gained when subjected to the electromagnetic energy released when the button in the hatch wasn't pressed (which is obviously why Widmore knew he could withstand his box test).

So I'm still not quite sure what to make of the two different realities and how (or if) they will come together in the end, but I'm confident now that Desmond is a key part of figuring out the mysteries of the 2. Now I don't necessarily think that Desmond has a huge role in the game that Jacob and The Man in Black are playing on the island, but I could be wrong. I did find it a little weird that after Widmore subjects Desmond to the experiment, Desmond is acting completely different. Sure you could just argue that he saw the AR and is now more enlightened and willing to go along with Widmore to get more answers and see Penny again, but it also seemed like he was very Jacob-like in his calmness. I'm not saying that the experiment turned Desmond into Jacob, but there are some weird things happening with Desmond that parallel Jacob. Even in the AR Desmond was telling Charlie all about choice just like Jacob... so who knows.

I can't recall anything else sticking out to me in a way that brought me to another theory, but I would like to know what you guys thought. Do you think the two realities are going to merge somehow or do you feel like I kind of do that they are still completely separate, but some things will cross over either in the form of Deja Vu or weird "visions" and dreams, as we saw this week. I think Desmond is the only one that can "see" into the other reality due to the fact that he can withstand the electromagnetism.

One thing I did find kind of cool, as sort of an easter egg that I read on the forums, was that the sound that the smoke monster makes is the same sound as the MRI machine that Desmond was put in. This also goes back to the first season when Rose mentions that she's heard that noise before (when she hears the smoke monster) which would make sense since she has cancer and would probably have been subjected to many MRI's at that point.

So I know I didn't pick up on as much stuff this week and don't have a solid theory yet, but that's pretty much what I came away with this week. So what did I miss and what do you guys think?
